Research
JournalsThe on-line journal, Reviews of Research in Human Learning and Music, fills an important void in the research literature in music. There is a wealth of data in cognitive science, behavioral science, physiology, kinesiology, and neuroscience that contributes to our understanding of the processes of music learning. Much of this research is somewhat inaccessible to teachers and other musicians because of its high degree of specialization. By publishing substantive, readable reviews of research related to music learning, RRHLM will provide practicing teachers, musicians, and scholars information about aspects of human learning and development of which many in the music community are entirely unaware. Reviews of Research in Human Learning and Music will employ advanced graduate students in compiling, organizing, and editing reviews of the latest research in human learning. These students will have numerous opportunities to work with leading scholars and researchers in psychology, physiology, kinesiology, neurology, and behavior. The inaugural issue of RRHLM will go online soon.
