Music Careers in Public EducationEach year the Center for Music Learning sponsors Music Careers in Public Education, a one-day workshop designed to acquaint music students in all disciplines with the profession of teaching in primary and secondary schools. Outstanding School of Music Alumni who are enjoying successful professional lives as choral, instrumental, and elementary music teachers return to campus to share their experiences and discuss the challenging and gratifying aspects of their work. Students in the School of Music are afforded formal and informal opportunities to talk with these successful alumni and learn about their lives as teachers and about preparing for a life in public education.
